I'm an extraordinary guy: nice, loving, dependable,
compassionate, smart, spiritual, inquiring, creative,
playful ... and humble, did I forget humble? Seriously ...
I've got my flaws, but my friends pretty much think I hung
the moon ...
I'm financially and emotionally stable. I'm
very down to earth with old-fashioned/mid-west values and a
great sense of humor that helps me find the humor in almost
everything.
I'm a lot of fun, and while I'm definitely
masculine and a man's man, in the right company I can be
playful to the point of being downright silly. I treasure
the man who can tease out that part of my personality.
My passion is writing and orchestrating music - there's
nothing like the rush of hearing a room full of world-class
musicians play something you've written and orchestrated.
I tend to be a care-taker; I'm sympathetic,
tenderhearted, straightforward, compassionate, deferential
and generous. I tend to be pretty sensitive, perceptive and
insightful both about myself and the people around me.
I'm very curious; adventurous; imaginative; creative;
artistic; inspired and a little daring. I've lived and
traveled all over Europe and North America; and dabbled in
South America. I love to travel: Vietnam, Australia, New
Zealand the South Pacific, Africa and Egypt are on my short
list of places I'd like to go next.
I'm both focused and
flexible; depending on the situation I can be either very
organized or really casual and informal.
I've married my
Christian roots with an open spirituality that's more
inclusive and focused on living in the moment, and being the
best person you can be in every moment. Seminal books for me
spiritually include The Power of Now, Loving What Is, and
the Artist's Way. I'm pretty much totally on board with the
movie "What the Bleep".
The last 3 years I've been both
parent's primary care giver. Loosing them has been
horrendous, and I'd take care of them for the next 50 years
if I could have them back; but now that they've both passed,
I'm enjoying getting back in shape and the adventure of
rediscovering what my life looks like when it doesn't
revolve around caring for them.
I asked my best friends
to describe me in four words or less. They objected to the
limit of 4, but in the end they settled on: Funny,
Thoughtful, Spontaneous and Romantic. [A former boyfriend
wanted to add great kisser & hugger ... apparently he
doesn't know how to count to 4...]

I'm not remotely photogenic and never thought of myself as
more than average - but everyone thought my Dad was hot, and
everybody seems to think I look like him; so I've learned to
make room for the possibility that I'm a pretty decent
looking guy when not subjected to a camera. |

I'm looking for another real, down-to-earth/old fashioned
guy ... are there any of us left? Ultimately I'm interested
