‘Hi, my name is Amy and I’m 32’. If this is your opening paragraph then it’s not exactly going to stand out amongst other profiles. Try to start with something that gives a real insight into you as a person, as opposed to straight facts.

Check it through carefully

If your profile page has mistakes, this can have some fairly long-lasting consequences. An example of this is a dating site user who wanted to make a point that he was Egyptian. Quality Dating Profiles and Quality People

We’ve stated before that the quality of the profiles written on our site was going to be going up. It’s funny how people don’t read the fine print. When someone registers for this site they receive an email with the guidelines for quality and profiles.

We get an occasional email from an angry person because we didn’t post their profile that said “will do later” or some other short non descriptive couple of words. We also get an occasional email from someone who appreciates what we do for them. Appreciative of the fact that we are even here for people with HIV to date and find others to communicate with.

We received this angry email the other day:

“it doesnt matter what you think my profile should be its the way it is and that it, if you dont like then fuckin cancel the mofo either way I could careless”

No we didn’t edit it. After asking this person if they minded if we deleted his account we got another angry email saying:

“I wouldnt give a fuck if your ass your site is a joke to begin with have a nice life”

No not edited either.

We received this email the same day:

“Thank you for giving us the opportunity to meet online”

It’s amazing how just a little kindness, a few kind words, can make all the difference in the world, can lighten the heaviest of loads and make a persons day.

Next time someone opens a door for you, look them straight in the eyes and say thank you, and Mean It.

Describe the things that are important to you in your life. If volunteering is the something that makes you feel about yourself, you would want someone who at the very least supports you if not joins you in your volunteer projects. When you get beyond superficial things, you will attract others who share your values.

You can also invest in your online profile by hiring a professional photographer for your first online picture. This is so important. The picture is the FIRST thing a man see’s. Profiles with Pictures get way way more responses than ones without right?

But some of you don’t want the world to know you’re HIV Positive right?

The answer to this is to make your pictures private or at least have one picture up to draw in prospective friends, and then give them the password to your password protected private images.

You can even use a picture of just your torso or a non-descriptive photo of your profile.

You can upload your images and make them private in your members area where you would normally upload images.

We hope this helps you to get more responses, than you would without a photo.

Increasing number of bad profiles

As I have stated in the past, that the standards of thsi site are drastically going up. When we find someone who has filled out their profile with “will fill out later” or any number of gibberish letters such as “jjjjjjjjjj”,”arfjkdjkwljerkljwlekr” or whatever, their profile either will be deleted automatically or declined and they will have a chance to refill it out.

HIV Dating Sites are already a target for Nigerian scammers so why make things worse by having crappy profiles to boot? we refuse to let this happen to this site. Aside from being The Best HIV Dating Site on the internet, we are also the most policed of all the sites that can be found.

We have many members who are actually paid by us to intercept and root out scammers as well as the competition who sign up just to send emails to other members and tell them to come look at their profile on xyzdatingsite.com. Come on people, we all know that trick, and it’s no working.

Here at www.hivpoz.net we pride ourselves on how much we police the site for scammers. So much so that we installed a “Report Spam” link in everyones email. It’s on the left side of the email if you are reading an open email. All you do is click the link and it sends the senders email address, profile name and email to the administrators of this site for investigation. We love catching scammers and spammers and banning their subset of IP addresses from this whole site.

It seems lately their have not been many scammers on because we catch most if not all of them. This is through the help of all the members of the site. We really appreciate this.
